most important. Help prioritise where to start the improvement effort. |

| Procedure
: |
- Decide on
the topic of study.
- Select the
type of causes or conditions to be compared.
- Determine
the standard for comparison.
- Collect data.
- Compare frequency,
cost, or amount (as appropriate) between categories.
- Draw the
vertical axis indicating the standard for comparison in increments.
- Label the
horizontal axis with each factor in descending order.
- Draw the
bars to indicate the frequency (or cost or amount) of each factor.
