A voting process
that narrows a broad list of ideas to those that are most important. |

| Purpose
: |
Used to narrow
a list of ideas to the critical few worthy of immediate attention. |
| |
|
| Procedure
: |
- Using a predetermined
list of ideas, consider whether any are the same or similar
- Ask the
group - especially those who identified the items in question
- whether similar items may be grouped together.
- If the group
agrees, combine the duplicate items (or the similar items).
- Number each
item on the new list.
- Determine
the number of points that will be assigned to the list by each
group member.
- Allow several
minutes for group members to independently assign their points
to one or more of the items on the list.
- Indicate
each member's point allocation on the list.
- Tally the
votes for each item on the list.
- Note the
items that received the greatest number of points.
