Opinion survey

1. Opinion of Hong Kong Primary Care Doctors about Preventive Medicine
Author : James Dickinson, Cynthia Chan, Joyce Tang. Department of Community & Family Medicine, Chinese University of Hong Kong
Description :
Doctors are interested in prevention, and believe it is important, but few undertake it systematically. There is widespread uncertainty about what preventive activities should be undertaken, on whom, and appropriate intervals for repeating them. Doctors would like guidance on these. They feel that the major limit to preventive activity is limited health knowledge among the population. Limited time in the consultation makes initiation of new topics difficult for doctors. The doctors feel unable to introduce new preventive medicine topics to their patients, unless asked first. They would like much more public information and campaigns to be undertaken by government, to make it easier for the doctors to do their part.

Author : James Dickinson, Cynthia Chan, S twin, E olroyd, C fabrizio, F Cheng. The Cervical Screening Evaluation Group
Description :
Education program for doctors, comprising journal articles and educational workshops successfully change doctors' opinions about cervical screening.
