l             Provide training in infection control for health care staff in the public and private sectors as well as in the elderly services;

l             Conduct health education programmes to increase the awareness of the community on infection control measures;

l             Promulgate infection control guidelines and best practices recommended by the Scientific Committee on Infection Control;

l             Assist in carrying out infection control programmes and related researches, in particular, the study on antibiotics resistance, in collaboration with the Hospital Authority, the Public Health Laboratory Services Branch and the private sector;

l             Collaborate with the CHP-HA outbreak control team in hospital outbreak control and investigations to facilitate effective control of communicable diseases.
